Who says that you have to wait to be a designer "when you grow up"? FunnyPeopleCo is the collaboration of two young sisters based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sophie, 22, and Louie Touassa, 18, create quirky jewelry and accessories for fun-loving teens. How did you get started as designers? We have been designing our whole life, from fashion to accessories to just anything you can think of! We even designed clothes for our Barbies!

What inspires your work? Anything, it can be colors, or nature, something on the street or even a jar of cookies! Artists see inspiration everywhere.

Who are your favorite designers? Our fave designer is Luella! She is the Queen of Youthful Chic, we just love her style!

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? We really don't have must-haves, anything comfortable that flatters our body and compliments our style sticks with us, we experiment al lot!

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? As we are aspiring designers ourselves, we want young designers out there to know that it is possible to make it! Be true to what you love, study and work hard and don't let people and critiques let you down.

Where can people find your work? You can find our shop at FunnyPeopleCo.etsy.com, our blog: diaryofayoungdesigner.blogspot.com and our Myspace page: myspace.com/funnypeopleco
Anything else? We are both 22 and 18 yrs old, young people that really want to make a difference in the world and want to share our love for fashion and style to everyone!

We love all of the amazing independent designers out there and we wanted to find out more about what makes these creative types tick. If you do too, check out more of our Indie Designer Interviews.

The brand is set to show on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom during New York Fashion Week.

Tyler, a statuesque stunner and daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler, has been operating under the radar for the past few years. She has a three-year-old son Milo with her ex-husband, Spacehog singer Royston Langdon.

Liv Tyler is back in the modeling game.

The model-turned-actress-turned-model again? is set to star in the Spring and Fall 2010 ad campaigns for denim brand G-Star as its “Brand Ambassador,” helping the company with its U.S. expansion.

“Liv is a great fit for the brand because she exudes the perfect level of sensuality, a characteristic very important to G-Star,” the company said in a statement. “She’s a strong, beautiful and independent woman with an impeccable feeling for style.”

The Dutch company is looking to grow from 12 stores to 50 stores in 20 major metropolitan areas within the U.S. by sometime in 2015.

And though the jeanswear maker has been seen as a fashion company and has staged major fashion shows during New York Fashion Weeks, it really wants to refocus as a denim company.

“We’re a denim brand that happened to show at New York Fashion Week because we believe it’s a platform into America,” explained Shubhankar Ray, G-Star’s global brand director, to WWD.

The hunt for Alexander McQueen's replacement is on, but we can count one possible contender out.

Back to the drawing board, people.

Too bad. The British-born, Paris-based Pugh could have been a fitting choice to follow in McQueen's formidable footsteps. Like McQueen, he's created flamboyant costumes for Lady Gaga (as well as Beyoncé), and is known for his provocative, forward-thinking runway shows.

As we previously reported, Australian model Gemma Ward recently declared she was done with modeling when criticism erupted after images surfaced of her looking very un-waiflike (read: healthy).

However, it looks like Ward will be returning to the runway, after all.

On Sunday, the model — and former girlfriend of the late Heath Ledger — posted the following on her Twitter page:

“Thank you everyone for your support, all I’ll say on the subject is I’m content with my decision, but I have said nothing will be permanent.”

Then on Monday she told The West Australian: “I have not ‘quit modeling’ and my fans back home can expect to see me back at work modeling and acting in the new year.” (Note to Ward: Your fans are not just back home!)

The paper also did some digging and got Ward’s mother to reveal that her daughter will be staying in the U.S. and studying acting, something the model has been interested in for some time.

“She’s been doing some great drama theater courses and is considering doing a three-year course at Yale, which is a great possibility. She’s making one step at a time,” Ward’s mother said of her daughter, whose break from modeling was spurred by the death of Ledger in early 2008.

“She’s 22 years old and has worked incredibly hard,” Ward’s mother continued. “She’s had a very difficult few years personally and now she’s having a really lovely time doing things she wants to do and enjoying being young.”

According to Ward’s Twitter page some of the new simple pleasures she’s embracing include watching “Gossip Girl” and “Harry Potter,” and eating Ben & Jerry’s and popcorn. (Can you blame her?)

Her mother also said the model is devoting time to charity projects and “developing herself.”

Are you excited to see Gemma return to the runway or do you think she should retire from the catty industry for good? Leave a comment!

And read why this supermodel quit the catwalk.

SHOW: Badgley MischkaMAKEUP: Tom Pecheux for M.A.CHAIR: Peter Gray for RedkenBEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Elegant and Chic THE SCOOP:Tom Pecheux inspiration came straight from the brand, "it really is about the Badgley Mischka woman. When you see a Badgley Mischka dress you just know, you don't have to see the tag. The woman should be the same." With that in mind he created a cocktail look for a young woman "who loves luxury and beauty, who is elegant and sophisticated, but isn't flashy." To start, create a matte finish skin and then cover the eyelid in a deep blue shimmery shade of eyeshadow. Next lightly dusk a gold shadow across the lid and under the eye. Then apply mascara to the top lashed leaving the bottom plain. Finally a subtle dusk of rose on the cheek bones and a lavender lip gloss rounds out the makeup.

The theme for the show? "Badgley Mischka meets Blade Runner, at least for me," said hairstylist Peter Gray. "What I tried to do was add a bit of a futuristic flare to this traditional red carpet brand." The look is actually rather easy to do, put the shaper (basically a doughnut shaped brillo pad) around your hair and then slide it to the tip, then simply roll up and pin. Once the hair is in position apply a generous amount to hairspray to help it stay put. While the shape is simple Gray cautions it shouldn't been done with clean hair. "When you wash your hair it is very slippery. To really make this work let it get a bit dirty so it grips." GET THE LOOK MAKEUP: M.A.C Eyeshadow in Deep Truth and Goldmine, Cremesheen Glass in Ever So Rich, Pro Lash Mascara Coal BlackGET THE LOOK HAIR: Redken Guts 10 Volume Spran Foam, Workfource 09 Fleximble Volumizing Spray

SHOW: BarbieMAKEUP: Sarah Lucero for StilaHAIR: Orlando Pita for T3BEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Barbie! Fun, fresh, and feminine. THE SCOOP:The 50 models that took to the runway as part of the Barbie show depicted the iconic doll in the past, present, and future. Ranging from the fantastical to the easily wearable, each gorgeous look captured Barbie's glamorous femininity, but that was about all they had in common! As makeup artist Sarah Lucero explained "Barbie of the past was taken from the original 1959 Barbie doll. She has a really plastic thick lash, so when you blink it isn't even separated, with big sculpted eyeliner. The lip is red glossy lacquer finished off with Stila's Strawberry Lip Glaze. Barbie of the present's really glowy skin and pink colors can can come straight off the runway, it's fun, fresh and very wearable. Barbie of the future is bright and colorful, it's a masquerade look. It's exaggerated but to take it down you can literally use eyeliner pencils and shadows in the same pinks, teals and purples." As for the hair: "We did Barbie by the decades," said stylist Orlando Pita. "Barbie isn't really a little girl, she's a woman. We wanted to make her fun and elegant and not go to much into the draggy thing."

GET THE LOOK MAKEUP: For Barbie of the past you'll need Stila's liquid eyeliner, gobs of mascara, Dominique lipstick and Strawberry Lip Glaze. For the present pick up Stila's Illuminating Liquid Foundation, All Over Shimmer, and Giggle light pink lip vinyl when it hits stores. To get the essence of future Barbie try Glitter Eyeliner in Purple Silver, and the Starlet Pastel Palette.

GET THE LOOK HAIR: You will have to wait until September to nab it but T3's limited edition Barbie edition of their Featherweight dryer is a must have for every Barbie girl.

SHOW: TODD LYNN MAKEUP: TERRY BARBER FOR M.A.C BEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Tilda Swinton in a remake of Mad Max that's set in Siberia – an ecclesiastic natural beauty

THE SCOOP: There's nothing forgiving about skintight black leather pants, but they sure do look hot on models with impossibly skinny, long legs. Paired with body-skimming jackets and sky high Louboutins, London designer Todd Lynn's collection was certainly chic, if a bit grim in its austerity. Terry Barber's description of the makeup inspiration for the show followed suit: "Imagine Tilda Swinton in a remake of Mad Max but set in Siberia – ecclesiastic natural beauty." Though that reference is a bit obscure, it's not lost on me as I look at the models' pale, matte skin, peach-rimmed eyes and grey-tinged lips. Grey lips are an emerging trend we've been seeing at both NY and London Fashion Week. It'll be interesting to see it this trend continues, or if it makes it off the runways and on to our lips. GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: Barber brushed M·A·C Pro Loose Powder in Peach along the lower lashline and applied it over lids to set the concealer creating a "tired peach" lid. Next was M.A.C Pro Eye Pencil in Pale Yellow drawn into waterline and between lashes, which were combed through with Select Cover-up Concealer. Lip Conditioner blended with Eye Pencil in Ebony were applied to the lips in a thin, sheer layer.

Extensions Are Bad For Hair - StyleLIES

Most times the word extension parallels the word weave which evokes images of horrible, fake hair on fried, damaged heads. But after consulting with extension gurus Nikki and Riawna, who hail from the famous Ken Paves Salon, we learned that this is far from the truth. The styling team, who do extensions for Hollywood stars like Lindsay Lohan, say that extensions of wrongfully gotten a bad rap. So we're here to turn this extensions myth around once and for all.

Nikki says, "Sure there are girls walkin' around here and we're just like 'Those extensions aren't right!' But you get what you pay for." Riawna quickly chimed in, "Yeah, many stylists get greedy and say, 'I can do it!' But they can't." Also most salons use metal or plastic to bond the extensions to the hair but using these materials is just asking for damage, or worse, for your hair to break off completely.

"Do your research," says Nikki. Go for quality over quantity. Both Nikki and Riawna went through a certified Great Lengths course where they learned how to properly do extensions. Everything from the hair quality to the way it's attached, even to the angle it's attached at matters, the girl's say.

Ken Paves Salon uses Great Lengths which attaches hair to hair so that not even an ounce of damage is detectable after the extensions are taken out. Find a salon that does similar work, teaches you how to care for it, and uses quality and you can't go wrong.
